Old Town Fort Collins Remodel
A 2000 s.f. home remodel and addition in the heart of Historic Old Town Fort Collins.
This Historic Old Town Fort Collins home gets an amazing addition with a specious master suite and bright and airy updated kitchen. The home owner has a love for the color sage green, so early on in the project we knew this would be our starting point from which all other ideas would play off of. One of the ways we decided to incorporate sage green was in the gorgeous custom cabinetry. We selected a sage green with a black glaze to add depth and richness to the color. In order to avoid repetitiveness and overplay of the sage green, we mixed in some cream upper cabinets in the kitchen along with a medium brown stained island for interest.
The client wanted a timeless look without it looking old fashioned so we focused on clean simple lines and classic materials. We replaced all the existing baseboard and selected a tall base with traditional detailing to keep the historic traditional roots of the house in the design. Crown molding was added at the ceiling throughout and headers similar to the original headers were installed throughout the addition to repeat the traditional theme. Modern light fixtures were added in the kitchen, dining, and stairwell to give the home owner the “updated” spin on traditional that she was after.
Classic white subway tile was used in this Fort Collins kitchen design to keep with the timeless look the client wanted. Modern glass subway tile was used behind the range to bring a modern fresh look to the space. A beautiful white cast iron farmhouse sink adds character and a sense of history to this dreamy kitchen and the single bowl basin allows tons of space for cookie sheets and turkey pans.
