Rebecca is a very stylish and classy lady who wanted to strike a balance between classy and hip with her entire first level remodel.

Design Trend #1: Two-toned cabinets

I love the look of doing two different cabinet colors in a kitchen. We didn’t have a lot of opportunity to reconfigure the space drastically in this kitchen due to various limitations on the three sides of the kitchen walls, so we decided to have a lot of fun with the cabinet colors and how we chose to mix them up.

Design Trend #2: Brushed Brass finishes

Yes, I know it was only a few years ago that people were ripping out the brass fixtures out of their house, but that was the shiny brass. Brushed brass, antiqued brass, luxe gold…they are softer than the shiny brass of the 70s and it adds so much warmth to a space, especially when using a cool color palette.

Design Trend #3 Playing with Geometry

Fun Geometric Shape on the Floor:

There has been a big shift lately towards doing fun bold patterns on the floor. One of the spaces that clients seem to feel more comfortable doing such a bold pattern is in a laundry/mud room where it’s the first thing you see when you enter the home, but not something that all of your guests will see. I suppose you can say it feels “safe” to do it where it is less visible, but can still be enjoyed daily by the owners.

Chevron Barn Doors:

When it came to selecting a barn door, we fell in love with this chevron shape that keeps it modern and fresh.

Hexagons:
Continuing with the play on geometry, we incorporated hexagons into the artwork, powder backsplash, and even the lights over the kitchen table.
